Consuela is a women’s fashion brand headquartered in Austin, TX.  Nothing is off limits for us when it comes to color, materials, textures, and design.  Our products are Purposefully Unmatched™ and reflect the uniqueness of each of us.  We believe in lifting women up and celebrating amazing, brave, creative, strong, wise, hilarious, and caring women everywhere through our It’s Not About the Bag program.    We’re looking for someone special to add to our team as a regular, full-time Materials Manager focusing on forecasting, ordering, and tracking material for our products which are primarily made in Mexico with materials sourced from Mexico. This is a data-focused position located in Austin, Texas.  

Responsibilities

• Manages and administers materials management functions, such as the planning, procurement, storage, inventory control and distribution of materials to factories meet company production objectives
• Forecasts materials needs and places POs, tracking progress, updating BOMs, and making adjustments as needs and conditions change
• Places POs with materials manufacturers and reviews and approves invoices, including sharing inventory tracking information with accounting
• Makes allocation decisions regarding sending materials to various factories based on current factory inventory levels and production needs
• Prepares and shares spreadsheets with Development, Production and Accounting to track materials needs and allocations
• Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages and QC issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, inventory management, business, accounting, or related field
• 5+ years experience with inventory management and production of a physical product, not software; fashion industry experience highly preferred
• Experience working in PLM systems a plus
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred - must be able to communicate with materials suppliers and factories in Mexico
• Excellent Excel skills required, including pivot tables - a sample project will be required
• Strong tracking and data management skills - must love data and getting it “right”
• Strong skills in writing and verbal communication
