SENIOR DESIGNER - Zac Posen

The Senior Designer executes the seasonal design development process, from concept to delivery, by creating and executing original, trend-appropriate design concepts that meet market needs and drive sales and ensuring the timely execution of each stage in the process.

  • Initiate and complete line plan requirements for the year
  • Initiate and oversee creation of trend boards and color boards
  • Supervise the development of collection and be aware of status

Strategy & Innovation

  • Research and identify trend direction to create innovative, elevated and relevant product for the contemporary market
    Collaborate to select fabrics, yarns, develop swatches, create color stories
  • Create, presentation boards for internal and external leadership meetings
  • Interface with Technical Design on prototype development, style fittings and Showroom Sample pre-production fittings
  • Execute Showroom Sample Collection from concept through Pre-production stage meeting key milestones on the Timing & Action calendar
  • Create product with strong price/value relationship to insure margin requirements


Operations & Results

  • Design product in accordance with Seasonal Line Plans to drive brand DNA: insuring to meet the needs of the business product pyramid
  • Ensure timely execution of T&A calendar with specific accountability of Design work flow
  • Create Illustrator sketches; Initiate specification sheets as first member in cross-functional work flow.
  • Select and review yarns and trims; ensure maintenance of fabric/trim library

Leadership & Teams

  • Actively manage cross functional relationships with Technical Design, Merchandising and Production
  • Contribute positively to team dynamic and manage up where necessary
  • Attract, develop and retain talent

Skills and Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience in Women’s apparel design
  • Highly proficient in PLM, Illustrator, Microsoft Office, Adobe products, and CAD
  • Creativity, technical capability and sensibility for product and line building; ability to sketch
  • Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented, meticulous and creative
