DESIGN / PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE - Jessica Simpson – Baby, Little Girl’s, Tween

Q4 Designs is a leading manufacturer of branded sportswear and outerwear. Our licensed brands include Jessica Simpson, DKNY, and Reebok, among others. We are seeking a highly talented and hard working Design/Product Development Associate to join our children’s apparel design team. 

Responsibilities include:

• Assist in the design & development of Girl’s 0-16 size range for the Jessica Simpson brand
• Work with Design Director researching and developing concepts & trends 
• Work with Product Development Manager to manage and give corrective comments on all proto and salesman samples 
• Create tech packs with fabric standards/color cards for sampling and production
• Daily correspondence with overseas factories
• Create CADS and maintain linesheets/catalogs to distribute to sales and production
• Enter all styles into licensor approval system and follow up accordingly
• Participate and take notes in fit sessions with head designer and technical designer 
• Reports to Design Director

Experience Required: 

• 2-3+ years experience (childrenswear a plus).  Should have a strong sense for both design AND product development/production. 
• Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator (sketching & tech packs, prints), Photoshop (some prints).  Must be a quick and detail oriented sketcher
• Good understanding of fit & construction 
• Must be a go-getter and take initiative without being told
• Strong knowledge of fabrics and yarns
• Must be extremely detailed, organized, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Be familiar with the Jessica Simpson brand/aesthetic
• Must have an up-beat personality and prepared to tackle any task at hand with enthusiasm
