ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE - Department Stores, Women's

Reporting To: Director Wholesale Sales  

Location: New York Showroom 

French Connection USA, an established global retailer, seeks an experienced Account Executive to join  its Wholesale Sales team. 

Job Summary 

The Account Executive will showcase excellent communication and negotiation skills. Act proactively to  address clients’ needs and facilitate the sale process from beginning to the end. Ultimate objectives are  to contribute to an increase in sales and maintain company-client relationships at a high standard.

Responsibilities

  • Manage key accounts and identify new potential customers.
  • Develop relationships with accounts to facilitate strong partnerships.
  • Suggest innovative ideas to increase sales and improve customer experience
  • Build sales strategies to ensure continued growth and exceed plans throughout the selling season
  • Organize regular client meetings to discuss brand performance and profitability. Control dilution through effective plan management.
  • Apply distinct strategy to E-Commerce businesses.
  • Stay current with new design, trend and product launches in order to best present the line.
  • Execute merchandising strategies learned at line review and construct pre-buys to present in market to major accounts.
  • Have strong understanding of account’s historical performance to guide future buys. Write balanced orders with buyers and analyze orders before shipping to ensure that all new additions are maximized.
  • Manage assortment plans by account and build into total stock buy seasonally.
  • Ensure budget and time requirements are met.
  • Trouble shoot problems and resolve complaints in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years Wholesale or Retail experience is a must, along with general knowledge of the fashion industry.
  • An ability to grasp clients’ needs and to increase customer engagement
  • Must be sales driven and have ambition to essentially run own business
  • Understand sales performance metrics
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, negotiation, analytical and time-management skills
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office (MS Excel in particular)
  • Travel ability and driver’s license are required
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing or relevant field
