Production Associate / Quality Control

Job description

Overall review of quality and workmanship for production goods shipped from factories. Communicate with overseas factories to relay findings in QC inspection reports and express any liable factory resolutions.  Evaluate return items and work with sales team for customer service support. 

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Internal Repairs

• Streamline process for receiving repairs from sales teams (wholesale/retail).  This will require constant reminder of our proper processes.
• Work with Sales on Returns for Repair Requests:

Determine if claims are valid for NY repair, factory recut or deemed not JYC responsibility.

Communicate to shipping dept of new ESDs if adjustments or delays are needed.

• Evaluate incoming damages/return products from retail customers, wholesale stores and ecom returns, assess the quality level, and record findings on a manual log sheet.
• Delegate repairs to internal sewing team. Updating/ tracking dress via In-house Repair Calendar schedule
• Reprocess if needed– simple sewing, using steamers/irons, stain removing, etc.
• Properly communicate with factory in regards to QC reports and debit notes
• Communicate with sales team once repair is finished and ready to ship/pickup
• Create and Issue Debit Notes to appropriate factory
• Ensure in recuts scenarios, the damaged/ defective garment in question are returned from sales to return to factory
•  Coordinate returns of defective or damaged units to factory

Bulk QC

• Assist with bi-monthly QC of bulk shipment Inspect finished merchandise by conducting a thorough visual evaluation ensuring the required JYC standard are met.
• Perform minor repairs and stain removals.
• Review, analyze, create bi-monthly bulk shipment QC report to factories.
• Return unacceptable goods through requesting recuts/issuing factory debit notes
• Updating production when goods need to be recut so that the proper department is notified of any delays (sales/shippers)

IC Units/TOP sample

• Track delivery schedule of Initial cuts through factory packing lists
• Update/Maintain IC unit shipping schedule
• Coordinate with Tech Designer/Team and Sales for comments and any last-minute call outs.
• Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs (for in-house reference)

Qualifications

• Garment Construction knowledge preferred
• Quality experience in the apparel/retail industry preferred
• Understanding of production and outsourcing procedures
• Strong communication skills
• Strong attention to details with strong follow-through
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail-oriented and meticulous.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Bilingual in Chinese and English is preferred, but not required.
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Office (strong Excel knowledge preferred)
