Product Manager - Brands

BRAND PRODUCT MANAGER GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

  • Manage the life cycle of product from development to production. Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Act as liaison between merchandising, sales, design, licensor and overseas offices in the development and manufacturing process.

SKILLS NEEDED:

  • Strong communication skills – all positions require direct contact with sales, accounts, overseas offices and internal development teams.
  • Experience with Costco, Sams, BJ’s, Off Price retailers; Marshalls, Ross, Burlington and Department Stores; Macys, Saks, Bloomingdales.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail – candidate should have the ability to work on multiple product  categories for multiple accounts and follow-through with product execution
  • Excel skills with knowledge of basic retail math and margin calculations
  • Accountability and sense of urgency
  • Understanding of technical design and details
  • Understanding of product development and production calendar timelines
  • Ability to work in cross-functional team environment with merchandising, sales, and design partners
  • Knowledge of Softline accessories a PLUS

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Management and execution of product line from development through shipment
  • Development of product through overseas offices
  • Take full ownership of organization and hand-off of all product specifications
  • Maintain customer PO files
  • Track and communicate delivery information to sales team
  • Daily communication with overseas office to monitor pre-production
  • Communicate details of packaging, cost, retail, and style data
  • Follow through on customer-requested changes
  • Instruct overseas on product development and design instructions
  • Manage cost spreadsheets in conjunction with overseas partners
  • Resolution of issues to insure timely product delivery
  • Coordination of sample tracking
  • On time delivery of knit downs, strike offs, fabrics, lab dips
  • On time delivery of prototypes, salesman’s samples, pre-production samples and ultimately     production merchandise
  • Daily communication with manager regarding status of projects
  • Communication with merchandising, sales, design
  • Liaison to all departments as it relates to executing the customer’s needs in terms of samples and production- readiness
  • Preparation of presentation materials for account meetings
  • Work with design on fit, construction and color approval
  • Understand technical design and details for handoff of technical packs from design to overseas offices
  • Adherence to calendar timelines, both internal and customer- specific
