Purchasing Specialist

MGT Industries, a privately held apparel company based in Los Angeles, is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, & organized person to join our team. Since 1984, MGT has been a leader in the design and production of private label Sleepwear, Loungewear, and Intimates.

We are growing and have an opening for a Purchasing Specialist.

This position is responsible for the purchase of all raw materials for our apparel brands.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Excel
• Knowledge of Bill of Materials and garment components a plus
• Experience in purchasing and working with designers for approvals on lab dips, strike-off’s and trims
• Must be detail oriented and understand development timelines to meet deliveries

Daily tasks include but not limited to:

• Collaborate with Design for approvals on fabric and trims
• Communicate approvals and supply detailed reasons for rejections of samples
• Prepare and process computer generated purchase requirements to create Purchase orders
• Negotiate some pricing and delivery methods
• Ensure all purchases will arrive on time by meeting necessary due dates and adhering to company calendar timelines

Must be able to work independently

Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities

Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form
