SENIOR TECHNICAL DESIGNER / PATTERN MAKER

Seeking an exceptionally detail oriented Technical Designer/Pattern maker with a background in denim and sportswear manufacturing.

Role requirements are as follows, but not limited to:

  • Oversee the technical design process from development through production
  • Ability to create a full detailed tech pack with all specifications in a PLM system  (BOM, spec sheet, construction pages etc)
  • Have a keen eye for design/aesthetic concepts
  • Understanding of the denim and sportswear market
  • Knowledge in all aspects of fit, construction, design detail and balanced pattern shapes.   
  • Maintain superior fit quality standards
  • Strong pattern making and grading background
  • Lead fittings strategically and efficiently
  • Collaborate with Technical Design Director in the development of specifications for each style
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with overseas vendors as well as internal teams
  • Critique each style for the appropriate construction and offer suggestions for improvement
  • Apply the appropriate corrections to a sample to maintain a balanced fit
  • Work closely with production on the specifications of each style adopted for production (ie correct quality fabric, trims etc..)
  • Exceptional follow through on calendar deadlines
  • Ability to maintain effective and efficient organization of samples and paperwork

Qualifications are as follows:

  • Associates Degree – 3-5 years’ experience in the industry
  • Proficient and strong in Adobe Illustrator
  • Proficiency in PLM programs
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction and fit
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Adaptable in cross-functional team-oriented tasks
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
