Kids Sr. Designer - Childrenswear

All Access Apparel, Inc. "DBA Self Esteem" in Montebello, CA. is looking for a KIDS Designer to join the team! As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for designing a timely assortment that is relevant to the brand position. You will be responsible for management of all product development and directly supervise the KIDs Design staff inclusive of Designers, Associate Designer, Design Assistants, Graphic Artists, etc. 

Duties:

  • Design trend right Girl’s Fashion based on the seasonal market & customer needs under the mentorship of Sales Director – sportswear & seasonal dresses.
  • Create CADs and line sketches using Adobe Illustrator. 
  • Source & develop new fabrics.
  • Create seasonal color palettes & themes.
  • Develop mood boards, sketch boards and line plans aligning with seasonal brand aesthetic. 
  • Responsible for all design details from rough sketches to production of tech packs. 
  • Oversee tech pack details for production as well as overseas sample development.
  • Supervise workflow of first pattern work and assist with prioritizing needs, as necessary.
  • Ensure issuance of first samples for cutting & sewing in a timely manner.
  • Perform first and production fittings.
  • Interface with Sales Staff, Costing Dept., Technical Design, Pre-Production, Production and Merchandising departments to ensure that requests are fulfilled, and information is properly communicated.
  • Lead Kids design team by training, coaching, and counseling employees as well as directing focus meetings for effective solutions/conflict resolution.  
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and needed.  

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 yrs. of  Girls design experience
  • Expert knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Portfolio required - Must include flat sketches with graphics.
  • Demonstrated understanding of textile print and graphic design application. 
  • Excellent time management and communication skills to meet tight deadlines.
