Technical Designer Womens Swim, Lounge and Mens

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for all technical aspects of Womens/Mens Swimwear and Sleepwear/Loungewear Product
• Create TPs to include technical drawings and sewing callouts along with full grading specs
• Arrange and conduct model fittings
• Fit and evaluate proto and fits until fit approval. Then evaluate and validate PP and TOP samples.
• Review patterns and understand fit issues. Detail appropriate corrections needed via spec and construction with detail callouts to overseas factories
• Answer all factory questions quickly and efficiently
• Work closely with the design team to ensure their vision is met
• Provide daily tasks for part time assistant
• Supply size charts and ecommerce descriptions to sales team
• Work closely with production on deadlines

• Ability to identify issues and create solutions outside of established parameters and guidelines
• Strong attention to detail along with strong organizational skills
• Must be able to work with a team and independently
• Must be able to multi-task

Qualifications:

• 8-10 years of experience in Apparel Industry/Technical Design/Design
• (Swimwear or Intimate experience a must)
• Must know and understand garment construction, grading, foam pad, cups and wire development, and have a good eye for fit
• Ability to create a graded spec and review graded patterns.
• Proficient in Illustrator, Excel and Optitex
