The Senior Graphic Design Manager is responsible for creative imagery, design, and production of compelling original assets for print and web marketing.  She/he will develop story boards, design print and digital sales collateral, direct photography, and produce videos to market and promote new product concepts that engage the customer, drive sales, elevate the brand and support company strategy.  The Senior Graphic Design Manager must possess a strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design + illustration skills and a track record successfully marketing fashion products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

  • Manages graphic art design and production of all print assets, including but not limited to line sheets, catalogs, trend presentations, packaging, and signage to support sales and business growth initiatives.
  • Creates innovative, visually distinctive, and engaging imagery for the print and digital assets (including web and video), social media, and special projects.
  • Executes creative (from concept to completion) in support of new product initiatives and existing product innovations.
  • Creates product renderings/CADs and illustrates custom patterns and motifs to match trend directions; produces sketches, storyboards and finished layout designs to effectively communicate the look and feel of asset creation.
  • Collaborates closely with cross functional teams including Sales and Design to provide solutions to customers’ needs and objectives; presents completed ideas to internal teams.
  • Interfaces with Trend Manager on creative design trends and collaborates to manage and update related website and social media content.
  • Articulates and brings new ideas to the forefront frequently; stays up-to-date on industry trends and other retail brands.
  • Responsible for creating brand collateral guidelines and organizing and maintaining the creative assets and file archives.
  • Effectively communicates and manages projects to meet deadlines and requirements of work.
  • Manages and mentors junior staff including freelance designers for special projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Graphic Design & Illustration and Photo Art Direction; fashion industry experience, highly desired.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire, mentor and lead teams.
  • Portfolio containing samples of product photography, print collateral, web, video, art direction, and general marketing content development/copy writing.
  • Graphic Design skills:  digital and print design, packaging design, event collateral, brochures, photo editing, brand strategy.
  • Software experience: Advanced proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and techniques.
  • Knowledge in usability design, information design and content design.
  • Able to successfully organize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and confident presentation skills; ability to interface and collaborate with others on a regular basis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Dedicated self-starter and innovator with experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong sense of urgency and extreme attention to detail.
