Product Development / Technical Designer

Jonathan Simkhai is searching for a talented Product Development/Technical Designer for our West Hollywood office.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Lead domestic and overseas development with manufacturing partners each season across multiple categories. 
• Act as the main point of contact with factories regarding all aspects of assigned styles including garment construction, design details, quality, Information accuracy etc.
• Work closely with the design team to ensure the brand integrity of each style is being executed.
• Work with pattern makers to create the first pattern if needed. 
• Work with factories in sourcing seasonal trims and fabric qualities needed in collection development.
• Create and maintain initial development tech packs and launch development with domestic and overseas factories.
• Maintain accurate information in tech packs (BOM, Construction, fit comments, Spec) and relay updates to vendors in a timing manner throughout the development process.
• Manage development packages, including sending fabric, sew guide samples, and trims for proto as well as coordinating material deliveries for SMS with fabric team.
• Assist in sample trafficking and sample shipment. 
• Update WIP and work closely with the Product Development Manager to maintain the development calendar.
• Update fit log to better inform fitting schedule.
• Prepare and attend Fit sessions.
• Review all samples for best construction and establish cost-effective manufacturing practice throughout the development process. 

Qualifications:

• Minimum Educational Level AA degree, Bachelors preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in technical design, preferably in wovens. Product Development experience is a plus. 
• Proficient Knowledge in design basics, garment construction and finishing.
• Ability to problem solve and work independently when necessary.
• Detail oriented, punctual and eager to learn.
• Ability to handle fast paced environments, short deadlines and a quick turnaround.
• Ability to react to change/flexibility.
