Assistant Designer
We are looking for an assistant designer to join our team at Project Social T. The Assistant Designer will provide operational support to the Design team in the creation and execution of the line. The Assistant Designer will research relevant trends, maintain the organization of the design office, communicate with cross functional team (PD, Production), and assist the team in preparation for all milestone meetings.
Position Responsibilities
- Research and identify trends that are relevant to the Project Social T customer.
- Shop the market on a regular basis for ideas and inspiration.
- Maintain awareness of current selling information as well as market trends and conditions.
- Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members (PD and Production) through communication and problem solving.
- Create hand sketches of styles in development.
- Maintain seasonal collection boards and walls.
- Maintain awareness of corporate calendar and adhere to deadlines
- Attend and participate in fit sessions. Take detailed notes and follow up as needed.
- Assist in day to day projects including filing/organizing, copying and updating development packages.
- Create and update linesheets/ spreadsheets
- Create and mantain fabric organization/ testing/ boards and follow up on deliveries
- Create p.o.s for dye sendouts/ fabric sample orders
- Maintain style book and keep organized
- Assisting with putting styles to cut in sewing room
- Maintaining dye chart/ log
- Send out lab dips
- Send out UPS / tracking
- Take photos/ log photos of all samples
- Keep closet/ design room clean / organized
- Manage boxes being returned from showroom
- Assist Boutique with executing / tagging / shipping out btq line
- Give input on relevant social media trends/concepts.
- Maintain uploading of Joor images
Position Requirements
- Strong sketching skills
- Degree in Fashion Design
- Strong knowledge of, and ability to work across, multiple product classifications (casual lounge, cozy, top.)
- Ability to multi-task and shift priorities
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Illustrator & Photoshop
