Designer - Contemporary Women's RTW

Seeking a  Designer to support the design team in all aspects of the development cycle from concept to final product.

Responsibilities

• Understand the Brand aesthetic and translate it into appropriate product.
• Experience with contemporary brands
• Flat Sketching: Must be proficient in hand sketching
• Research seasonal trends, themes, color, raw materials and styling.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Production and Technical Design to achieve product execution and maintain design integrity.
• Communicating with production teams and preparing packages for factories
• Conduct fittings.
• Print CADs and embroidery layout using Adove Illustrator and Photoshop skills
• Develop and counter source yarn/fabric and trim with production and suppliers.
• Strong working relationships with cross functional team members through communication and problem solving.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years Design experience in contemporary brands
• High taste level and creative ability
• In-depth knowledge of silhouettes, fabric and trim
• Knowledge of print/ embellishment development
• Proven ability to research and apply market/fashion trend information
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Detail oriented, good follow through
• Strong organizational, communication and written skills
• Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Excel
• BA Fashion Design
