Production Director - $100K+

The Production Director will manage the production life cycle of the girls sportswear, sleepwear and swimwear categories from initial development through final production including negotiation planning and execution of the product.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Establish critical process by implementing a detailed  WIP calendar report for all factories
  • Lead team to translate the calendar into detailed procedures to achieve on time completion of critical deadlines & execution of inputs required.
  • Manage pre-production to post-production calendar
  • Help to place and allocate work amongt existing supply chain with margin requirements and product capibilities in mind
  • Work with sourcing to develop new suppliers, and find new regions, for potential incorporation into new and existing products
  • Train, develop, and evaluate production team
  • Will work closely with Design, Merchandising and sales counterparts to ensure all teams are aligned and updated on product status and deliveries.
  • Ensure timely delivery according to development calendar
  • Follow and enforce production standards and cohesiveness of brand, across categories and vendors;
  • Work closely with Product Development to ensure on-time approvals; execute quality control initiatives, including QA analysis and solutions; adhere to and enforce production standards
  • Troubleshoot quality and technical issues with factories and design and technical teams in order to maintain aesthetic 
  • Achieve financial goals
  • Managing relationships with global partners, and play a key role in the production and sourcing strategies 

Skills and requirements:

  • Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulous
  • Creativity, technical capability and sensibility for merchandising/design
  • Knowledge of garment manufacturing, including construction, fabrication, trim and print techniques
  • 5 years’ experience in apparel production and sourcing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, Excel
  • Must have deep product knowledge of fabrics – ie. fabric weight, fabric content, and fabric construction.
