Better Sweater Designer

A well-established New York based Missy company seeks a creative designer for expanding our business. Duty from concept and develop seasonal themes with regard to silhouette, color, print and fabric.  Understand market trends and identify upcoming trends that will work within seasonal assortments.  Ensure all seasonal strategies support overall brand strategies to gain market share.

• Execute research and developing cohesive seasonal collections.
• Travel and shop Europe and domestic competitive and aspirational retail, trade shows and markets for new merchandise, trend ideas, and design inspirations.
• Present seasonal trends to senior management.
• Partner with designer and merchandiser to drive and develop seasonal collections.
• Ensure designs meet merchant line plans, assortment strategies, and overall creative direction.
• Attend fitting and grade production spec and Tech design
  
• Strong in color sense and garment construction
• Knowledge of CAD and illustration
• knowledge of adobe products (Illustrator and Photoshop) and print development experience a plus
• Knowledge of website editing/posting
• Minimum 5 year experience
