Associate Print Designer

The Assistant Print Designer will be responsible for contributing to the creation of prints for Girls apparel. This position will collaborate cross-functionally in order to stay in-line with business needs and current retail market trends.

Key Accountabilities:

• Work with design and fabric teams to develop original prints and original pattern designs
• Implement design concepts consistent with brand strategies
• Research retail market trends and translate into prints
• Facilitate research and development of new print techniques
• Ensure that the product is consistent with market trends while maintaining brand identity
• Manage workload to meet all deadlines
• Brainstorm new concepts for upcoming season’s prints
• Partner with Design in order to complete concepts and pitch sheets
• Partner with Production to finalize scaling, placement, and quality of prints
• Ensure colors of prints match the vision for the current apparel and accessories

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in communication arts/ design
• 2-3 years of experience in creating fashion prints (children’s experience preferred)
• Knowledge of textile repeats is a plus
• Knowledge of fabrications and technique capabilities a plus

Skills and Behaviors:

• Advanced proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
• Must be extremely self- organized
• Ability to design around concepts
• Must be able to work within specific timelines and towards multiple deadlines
• Excellent eye for color and detail
