Interior Design Project Coordinator

PROJECT COORDINATOR

Amanda Paige Interiors is a high-end, boutique interior design studio based in Manhattan. We are looking for a detail-oriented and self-motivated project coordinator to join our team. Responsible for both creative work and project management, the project coordinator will ensure that design process runs seamlessly and smoothly— from conception to completed installation.

Please note due to the nature of this role, remote work is not possible. Therefore, the Design Assistant will be expected to report regularly for work at our office on the Upper East Side.  

What you will accomplish:  

You will serve as a key member of the design team. On any given day, you may:  

Keep things organized and on track:   

  • Work closely with the Principal to ensure project schedules, trackers, logistics, and appointments are gracefully and logically managed  
  • Assist with documentation and design packets in conveying custom requirements and design solutions for client projects to the broader design and construction team 
  • Communicate with vendors/workrooms to order or create custom furnishings, lighting, window treatments, millwork, architectural interior finishes, overseeing orders from start to finish  
  • Facilitate the accurate and timely completion of projects by serving as a trusted advisor on-site, ensuring vendors and contractors satisfy their respective scopes of work in an aesthetically pleasing, technically proficient, and high-quality manner
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of all purchased pieces
  • Communicate and coordinate regularly with Principal and to manage the development of deliverables at contract milestones throughout the design project process
  • Create installation timelines; organize and oversee installations

Design magnificent spaces:   

  • Provide assistance with all phases of the design process including presentation packages, schematic designs for the conceptual design phase, sourcing and specifying FF&E for the project, specification orders, communication between vendors, in addition to other design related activities (space planning, material selection, vendor selection and negotiation, and similar) 

Help to win new business:   

  • Assist in the preparation of new business presentations including mood boards and related documents 
  • Create content and manage company’s social media platforms

Who you are:   

  • You have more than 1 year experience working full-time managing schedules, projects or logistics
  • You are extremely detail oriented and organized
  • You have experience managing a full workload in a fast-pace environment in all stages: from conception to execution 
  • Knowledge of building materials, finishes, furniture installation and construction methods as they relate to the interior design discipline is a plus
  • You have demonstrable experience in all phases of project workflows from preliminary design through install

  • Interest in interior design and a good eye
  • You are comfortable working in a Manhattan-based office

  • A basic financial acumen: You have experience managing and sticking to budgets and can reverse engineer when necessary for budgetary purposes 
  • A comfort with ambiguity. You don’t always wait to be told what to; you proactively look for ways to add value to anything you work on
