Production Assistant

Santa Fe Apparel is looking for a motivated, organized and experienced person to join our team as a production assistant.

Job Description: Knowledge in Men’s, Ladies & kids- sportswear, outerwear, and sweaters. Candidates must have some experience in the production process (from development and costing to shipping) and be comfortable working in a team-oriented, collaborative, office 5 days per week. You will work closely with Design, Technical and Sales to ensure all teams are aligned and updated on product status. Experience with US retailers is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist production coordinators in following up on production status with overseas factories daily
  • Help manage approval process with samples, trims, fabrics, etc.
  • Responsible for tracking costings and factory bids for programs
  • Manage costing charts for programs
  • Maintain and follow up on Time and Action calendar for production submissions and approvals, samples, lab testing, inspections and ship dates to ensure on time shipment of programs.
  • Work closely with Design, Sales, and Technical Design to ensure on-time approvals
  • Insure timely deliveries/vessel bookings and Freight Forwarders for garments 
  • Analyze and understand customer manual for production
  • Manage counter development samples for development and production
  • Work with Design team to develop samples and costing for exclusive programs
  • Prepare fabric, trims, and other materials for factories to make samples
  • Work with overseas QC and inspection teams(company and 3rd party) to schedule inspections, testing, etc.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of garment manufacturing, including construction, fabrication, trims, and print techniques a plus
  • 2 years’ experience in apparel production and sourcing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe products,
  • PLM knowledge a plus
  • Clear and thorough understanding of the product life cycle and production process
  • A team player
  • Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize.
  • Mandarin a plus
