Associate Designer

We are a major Women’s casualwear company, manufacturing both branded and private label, in moderate and contemporary markets and we are looking for a candidate with approximately 2-3 years experience to work with design team.  Our office is located in Midtown Manhattan on Fashion Ave, but the work would be remote for 2-3 days per week and in the office 2-3 days per week, for now.

The ideal candidate must have the following skills:

• Extensive knowledge on all Adobe programs (ie. Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Powerpoint.
• Able to put together digital presentations for buyers, using above programs.
• Able to sketch on illustrator, both flat and on figure, including color CADS.
• Knowledge on pitching prints and repeats.
• Daily communication with overseas factories, both development and bulk.
• Able to spec and assemble techpacks on woven tops, knit tops, sweaters, and lounge categories.
• Able to execute embroidery design and layouts.
• Must be able to approve all bulk trims, fabrics and prints.
• Experience in market research, shopping for ideas, and fabric knowledge also a plus.
• Must be hard working, a team player, detail oriented, and able to work in fast paced environment.

Salary up to 60k plus benefits  (health insurance, 401K) with lots of room to grow.  This position reports directly to 2 Design Directors.
