Sr. Merchandise Planner

The Sr.Merchandise Planner will develop strategic assortment plans to maximize sales and achieve financial objectives through the analysis of sales trends and forecasts. This position will work for the NYDJ Apparrel Brand , owned and operated by Sunrise Brands, LLC.

CRITICAL RESULTS:

  • Develop and manage annual, seasonal and monthly merchandise plans for multiple product categories.
  • Analyze sales, inventory and margin performance and effectiveness of promotions and product launches.
  • Identify and quantify global and channel product trends, productivity and areas of risk and opportunity.
  • Provide category level hindsight to drive future strategic assortment decisions and investments.
  • Execute and distribute weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting. Provide insights and recommendations to key stakeholders for seasonal planning.
  • Prepare innovative ad-hoc product and performance analysis for management as needed.
  • Research the competitive market landscape as it relates to product, pricing, position and marketing; make recommendations based on those findings.
  • Manage DTC Open to Buy (OTB)
  • Work with DTC team on exclusive programs and capsules.
  • Support sample management and ordering process.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with cross functional team members
  • Provide support to leadership on special projects as needed.

Experience:

  • Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in merchandise planning with a multi-channel retailer
  • Demonstrated E-Commerce experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas, modeling and shortcuts
  • Must be able to manipulate large quantities of raw data to drive business decisions
  • Expertise in retail math and OTB planning
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills with focus on driving positive results to the bottom line
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently on simultaneous projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities; ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with peers and cross-functional teams
  • Preferred:
  • Wholesale and Retail planning experience in the apparel domain

Working Conditions:

  • Computer terminal use 6 hours per day
  • Ability to safely lift up to 25 lbs without assistance
  • Standard Office Environment
