PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The Product Development Manager is responsible for executing collections based on Design and Merchandising objectives.  In addition to being a raw materials expert, they will make sure all style developments meet deadlines and target margins as well as communicating style information across departments.  

Major Responsibilities:

• Manage all product development, costing and sourcing activities
• Source raw materials that meet design, production, pricing and timing strategies 
• Responsible for testing new raw materials prior to adding to line 
• Execute and organize pre-line samples, SMS and SMU/marketing samples
• Coordinate all development and sample fabrics and trims
• Generate sample PO’s and track and confirm vendor deliveries 
• Work closely with Tech team to ensure samples are checked, tagged, fitted and signed off on
• Present formal handover to Production with final samples
• Develop, create and maintain all bill of materials
• Track and log development costs
• Review and adhere to seasonal time and action calendars  
• Communicate daily with domestic and overseas factories
• Travel locally and overseas to contractors and vendors on regular basis as needed

Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience end-to-end in apparel product development.
• Deep knowledge of product – activewear a plus
• Self-motivated, high-energy, dynamic personality with excellent negotiating and communications skills
• Positive, enthusiastic attitude
• Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task
• Some lifting required
