GRAPHIC DESIGNER

The ideal Graphic Designer must have Strong Design Skills:

• Knowledge of Adobe Softwares such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Knowlege and skills in creating Illustrations using drawing and sketching
• Responsible for maintaining and creating brand identity systems for multitude of product lines
• Working with Department manager and Graphics lead to establish appropriate direction
for assigned projects
• Create graphic solutions for the following: Packaging design, catalogs, presentations,
social media/web/trade show graphics, and sales collateral
• Ability to take an assigned project from conception to completion

Responsibilities Include:

• Creating illustrations/artwork
• Layout/copywriting, typography
• Sourcing images, effects, and materials
• Ensuring accuracy of all graphic elements (proofing artwork & copy content)
• Preparing artwork for print production
• Follow provided style guides, assist in creation of new style guides when needed
• Follow-through to provide Traffic co. with color proofs for Asian vendors, paper
documentation of deliverables, etc.
• Working with graphics lead to make sure work is projecting correct image & message
• Providing correct specs. mock-up samples for buyer review or to send out to Asia
(hangtags, displays, boxes, sleeves, trays, inserts, POP, and show signage)
Strong Understanding of the 4-color process
• Ability to direct & work w/ print vendors
• Proficient in identifying reasons for poor print outcomes and ability to
provide solutions
• Responsible for researching new innovations in print materials
• Ability to Time Manage and Meet all Deadlines
• Must be able to multi-task-works well under tight deadlines
• Accurately assess how long a job is going to take from conception to completion
• Problem solve and improvise in order to speed up design and output process
• Ability to re-acclimate to deadline changes
• Altering personal schedules to meet deadlines (working evenings and weekends)
unsolicited, when needed.
• Must take detailed & orderly notes (date notes/ refer to notes upon arrival to work/and archive notes for reference.)
• Understanding and adherence job tracking system

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong verbal communications in English
• Must be able to thoroughly and effectively express ideas and methods w/ all
coworkers and outside vendors
• Must be able to dispense and receive criticism in a constructive and professional manner
Rudimentary Knowledge of Retail Branding
• Responsible for researching the outdoor/hunting/mass merchant industries
• Monitoring and collecting branding examples and identity system examples
• Understanding and researching our target demographics

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• BA or Technical School Certificate in Graphics Design/Design Communications Arts
• Minimum of 3 years design/production experience
