FABRIC PURCHASING AGENT
Job Function:
- Place and process raw material purchase orders including confirm delivery dates
- Coordinate and follow up with suppliers on shipping raw materials to factory.
- Follow up with vendors on raw materials bulk submission rejections and approvals
- Follow-up with vendors to ensure that production samples are executed correctly and timely.
- Request and track the receipt of SGS and internal testing results
- Daily process tracking progress through RMPO tracker. Identify items that may present delivery delay and address accordingly.
- Review ready lists from vendors prior shipping to verify accurate quantity and date
- Request and authorize booking from material suppliers
- Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of problems trace shipments and follow up undelivered goods
- Request and process shipping documents including invoice payments and standard fabric weight
- Support with additional customers’ requirements as needed
Required Experience/skills:
- Min. 2-3 years of related work experience required or Bachelor’s Degree, preferable in Textile/apparel, business administration.
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills is a must;
- Ability to consistently communicate clearly is a must; Assertive
- Strong in Math
- excellent organization skills and timelines is a must; Multitask
- Detailed oriented with strong follow-through and a sense of urgency is a must.
- Ability to use basic computer programs effectively, competence on Word, Outlook and the ability to accurately setup Excel spreadsheets and the ability to create formulas a must; strong Excel
- Need to be a quick learner.
- Ability to work comfortable both independently and in a team environment;
- Negotiations skills a plus
